Never Forget

September 11, 2010

Dear Ella,

Today is the anniversary of a very tragic day in history. It's been nine years and, though neither you father nor I were personally affected, we can remember exactly where we were that morning. Someday we'll tell you the story. For now, however, I'll just say that September 11, 2001 is the reason we are at war today. There's probably a chance that your dad will be deployed to fight in the war on terror someday. There have been an incredible number of causalities and families changed forever. Today is one of those days when our country remembers and thanks our military men and women for their service. I know you will be so proud of your dad when you are old enough to understand. I can't wait for you to meet him! He's very excited to meet you! Your dad already has big plans for you that include playing hockey for his favorite college-the Wisconsin Badgers. No worries. Even if your path takes you another way we will both love and support you no matter what. One of these days I'll write down how your father and I met and got to where we are today-preparing to welcome you into our lives!

Love,
Mom

In the begining

September 10, 2010

Dear Ella,

Today I am 6 months pregnant with you. You are getting bigger and stronger and I feel it more every day. You are quite the mover and kicker! I wonder what this means. Will you be an athlete? What will you look like? So many questions! I am so excited to meet you! You are a little person with your own personality and your daddy and I love you so much already! Every time I feel you move I smile and think about how much of a blessing you are. I have so many hopes and dreams for you and for our relationship as a mother and daughter. Being your mom is already the most important and blessed job I will ever have.

Love,
Mom
